Our Kent Medium Contract Sand has a total sand content of 96%, followed by 4% Clay & Silt.  The free-draining nature of this sand is confirmed by the predominance of medium sand (0.25-0.50mm) and lower proportions of coarse sand (0.50-1.0mm) and fine sand (0.15-0.25mm).  Furthermore, this sand has a saturated hydraulic conductivity of 151mm/hr.

This contract sand is also ideal for a wide range of landscape applications where a very free-draining subsoil is required, including the planting of larger root-balled trees in both soft and hard landscape situations, podium landscapes, SuDS Rain Gardens and SuDS Bio Retention Systems.
