Washed Tree-Pit Subsoil (R)

SUITABLE FOR:
• Tree Pit Subsoil Layer
• Tree Planting in Hard Landscapes
• Free-Draining, Compaction Resistant Subsoil
• Podium Landscapes and Formal/High Use Lawns
• SuDS Rain Gardens & SuDS Bio Retention Systems

Our Washed Tree-Pit Subsoil (R) is best described as a non-saline, stone-free sand with a narrow particle size distribution. It’s very free-draining nature is evidenced by the predominance of medium sand (0.25-0.50mm), along with smaller proportions of fine sand (0.15-0.25mm) and coarse sand (0.50-1.00mm). When compacted, the subsoil exhibits a saturated hydraulic conductivity of 866mm/hr, demonstrating its satisfactory drainage performance for tree planting.

This Subsoil is ideal for use as a Washed Tree Pit Subsoil and a wide range of landscape applications including the planting of larger root-balled trees in both soft and hard landscape situations, podium landscapes or formal/high-use grass lawns. Further uses include as a Subsoil for SuDS Rain Gardens and SuDS Bio Retention Systems.
