Bury Hill will remain open for day tickets throughout 2017, becoming membership in spring 2018!
Whilst Bury Hill Fisheries will remain open to day ticket anglers during 2017, spring 2018 will see Bury Hill cease to be a commercial day ticket fishery. Instead we will be offering a selected number of day and night memberships, which will run along similar lines to that of our Specimen Carp Membership, which has run successfully for over 10 years and which offers a small annual membership fee, reduced fishing charges and extended fishing times.
Day membership will cost just £25pa with night membership costing £50 pa, which is the same as that currently. Both day and night members will be able to book and pay for their angling online via a state of the art booking system. Daily angler numbers on the lakes will be massively reduced creating a more peaceful, idyllic fishery with plenty of room between swims. Our future plans are to keep Bury Hill Fisheries an all round mixed coarse fishery with the emphasis being on quality rather than quantity. Our plans also include an overall reduction in swim numbers but with the creation of more double swims, which will provide a better more relaxed angling experience whilst at the same time allowing us to improve and enhance the fisheries landscape habitat with a view to attracting more wildlife.
This work will include re-planting the beautiful lily beds back on the Old Lake as well as creating a number of new reed beds to encourage fish holding areas, all of which will help return the banks to a more natural environment with an increased number of fish holdings areas.
We will be also be carrying out a full fish stock audit this winter on the Old Lake with a view to reducing the number of smaller bream and carp whilst increasing the number of tench and bigger carp.
Full details of our exciting plans will be announced during the coming months, however membership places will be limited and anyone interested in joining or who wishes to receive further information should register their interest by clicking on the 'New Membership Registration' Button below.
Please note that this is a new database and you should register your interest even if you have registered with BHF previously.
