Bury Hill’s Raised Beds are a great way to start growing your own salad crops, vegetables, fruit and herbs either in your garden or allotment. Quick and easy to erect slotting together without the need for nails or screws, our raised beds not only look stylish, but also provide a sturdy, compact growing area for all your produce.
Available in various sizes and a range of heights to suit both your choice of crops and preferred working levels, our raised beds allow you to grow a wide range of produce in a much smaller area than would otherwise be achievable planting in “open ground” conditions. Furthermore, a raised bed defines a compact area allowing you to both vary your choice of soil depending on the crops you wish to grow, whilst also making it easy and cost effective to improve the soil as and when required.
Manufactured from high quality timber, which is sourced from sustainable forests, our raised bed are handmade using ex 50mm (2”) thick timber with depth options, 200mm, 300mm and 400mm which allows you to grow a wide range of crops. Built to last, the timber used to build each bed has been pressure treated using a non-toxic water-based preservative, which is suitable for both horticulture and agricultural applications, whilst giving long lasting protection against wood-destroying fungi and wood-boring insects. The treated wood is light olive green in colour, but can be over treated in the colour of your choice using a suitable water-based preservative.
QUICK & EASY TO INSTALL
Each bed is supplied complete with easy to follow assembly instructions, see picture below, making the installation of your bed quick and easy. After choosing a suitable site in you garden or allotment area, which should ideally be flat, we suggest that once the ground has been cleared, the bed is positioned on top of a membrane such as a plastic sheet to stop the weeds coming through.

When growing salad, vegetables, fruit and herbs, we recommend that you use a premium grade certificated topsoil such as our Bury Hill Black, which is an enriched blended loam making it ideal for raised beds. Please note that you have the option above to purchase your raised bed either for self fill or complete with our certificated Bury Hill Black topsoil, see above.
